If you have been diagnosed with a brain tumor, you may benefit from having the tumor removed using the intraoperative MRI. This involves an operating room where real-time MRI images can be obtained during surgery while the tumor is being removed. Use of the intraoperative MRI can help to provide a more complete resection of your tumor. Over one thousand patients have been treated with the intraoperative MRI at Abbott Northwestern Hospital to date.
Stealth or BrainLAB neuronavigational guidance will also be utilized during surgery. Computer navigational guidance helps to provide a safer brain tumor resection.
