Timothy J. Kovanda, M.D. joined Metropolitan Neurosurgery in 2018. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery, specializing in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, brain and spine trauma, and brain tumors.
Dr. Kovanda’s undergraduate studies were at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio and he completed his M.D. at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, where he graduated with high honors. He completed his residency in Neurological Surgery at Indiana University. He is originally from Batavia, IL. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and spending time outdoors.
Dr. Kovanda is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Kovanda is accepting new patients. He is on the medical staff at Abbot Northwestern Hospital, Mercy Hospital, and Unity Hospital.
